Teen Trends

Taylor Swift's new album, Midnights, and the Deluxe Edition titled (Midnights 3am Edition), is setting all kinds of records, many of which were already hers. The headline song, Anti-hero is one of her most personal songs yet. It is one of her most personal and vulnerable songs yet. In it, she talks about many of her insecurities including her eating disorder, depression, and loneliness. It's so refreshing to have such an influential artist open up about her struggles and reveal her humanity. The album does have some explicit language in it, but many still view it as a creative, storytelling masterpiece.

Song of the Week

Jeremy Riddle's new single titled "Home" is the latest single from the former Bethel Music artist. The melody is so soothing. It's definitely a song that could be played in the background while you're spending time with God. I know that I will be doing that. The song encourages us as listeners to be ready to go "Home" to Heaven when God returns. When He does come, we want Him to find us celebrating and basking in His love.

There's an interesting nuance that I heard about recently that talked about the differences between a "house" and a "home." While a house refers to the physical structure, the home refers to the building and everything that comes with it - the memories, stories, experiences, messes, lessons, and family. It's subtle, but it's an important difference. I believe that there are spiritual implications to this as well. Is your heart Jesus' "house" or is it His "home?" Is it simply a place where you claim that He lives in, like a house? Or is it a place where Jesus has made Himself comfortable and spends a lot of time - His home?

Encouraging Thought

Life is always throwing different things at us - always keeping us busy. If the Devil can't turn us away from Jesus, he'll try to distract us from Him. In trying to juggle so many things, our relationship with God can sometimes end up on the back burner. I know I've been guilty of this at times. Is your relationship with the Lord on the back burner of your life?

Writers' Note

Speaking of backburners, there are so many things going on at Quest, which, unfortunately, meant that our blog got pushed to the back burner. We're back now though, and we're so excited to get back to sharing our experiences and what God is doing in our hearts!
