Teen Trends

A study from the UK concluded that the average family only spends 6 hours a week together. There are many reasons for this like the parents' work hours, kids' homework, and more recently, the cost of living post-pandemic. Regardless of the reason, the trend shows how the family as a single unit is losing importance in our society. It may require some serious intentionality, but spending more time with family is crucial. Everyone has a role in this too - not just parents.

Song of the Week

If you're one of the people that enjoys songs based on Scripture, then this song is for you! Phil King and Meredith Andrews released a new single titled "Psalm 23 (I Am Not Alone)." It's hard to go wrong with songs derived from the Psalms, and it's becoming more and more common. Psalm 23 is a well-known passage, and this song does it justice. It's definitely worth a listen if you have a few spare minutes or need a song for meditation.

In John 15, he talks about the power of loving one another. This advice can be used not just towards friends, but also towards family. Intentionality to spend time with your family can go a long way. If not with your family, someone you consider to be family. It is important to spend time with the ones who love you most and who love you most.

John 15:12-13 - My command is this: Love each other as I have loved you. Greater love has no one than this, that someone lays down his life for his friends.

Encouraging Thought

Knowing that our heavenly Father is always there to spend time with us is a gift. I encourage you today to extend that love to those closest to you. Dedicate a time this week to spend quality time with someone you care about.
