Teen Trends

An article on "National Public Radio" talks about the effects of social media on teens. With more research, we are just beginning to understand the impact of social media on youth. It states that a lot of things are falsely perceived on social media. It also explains how social media is addicting to many people. There is more risk of being cyber-bullied and people comparing themselves to false realities. While social media has downsides, it also allows people to connect from far away. If it is used in moderation it can be a useful tool.

Song of the Week

The song "Giants" by Anthem Worship was recently released and talks about God conquering our giants. One line that sticks out is "When we march into battle, you're already there." Knowing that God walks with us through our battles is so comforting!

Check out our running playlist of this season's songs on Spotify here.

When "giants" come our way in the form of mental health struggles, strained relationships, and grief, we can lean on God during those times. Isaiah 41 is encouraging; it states that God will give us help. He strengthens us and reassures us that we do not need to fear because He is with us. During your struggles, lean on God to help guide and strengthen you.

Isaiah 41:10 - So do not fear, for I am with you; do not be dismayed, for I am your God. I will strengthen you and help you; I will uphold you with my righteous right hand.

Encouraging Thought

We all have giants in our lives. Everyone's got things that they're struggling with. What's awesome is that you don't have to fight those giants alone. Obviously, God is fighting our battles for us, but we can also have a community around us that can help us fight. Don't try to fight your battles alone. People are there for you; we just need to reach out!
